Personally, I have found that blunt works fine if you do a head/neck shot and don't mind chasing them down to wringing their neck. But I do tend to loose a lot of blunt arrows as they sometimes just ricochet off somewhere. As for the less expensive and loose less arrow route, I have found the G5 SGH works pretty well, even for breast shots. And old non-sharpened broadheads gets the job done quite well. Also having a good backdrop is a must. Had a grouse fall off a cliff with the arrow impaled before.
Thanks for all the feedback Ill be on my way to cabelas hopefully in the next few weeks, I'll work on my shot placement and try all the tips that were suggested. THANKS!!!!!

I use judo's I shoot a Hoyt ultratec at 68 lbs I shoot high on the back and they are dead when they get shot. Makes a hell of a loud smack sound too
Snaro from now on. Last year, I shot 2 blue's with blunt. Both of them flew away with the arrow halfway through them. I recovered one and lost the other. I think I had a luminock on the one I lost. So GT Velocity XT + Blunt + knockturnal = $35. Now I use an extra long arrow with snaro. The arrow drop fast, but the shotgun effect compensate for that. Try to aim for the head and it's done deal!
