This winter has been very mild so far and the local turkeys are doing very well...hard to tell this years chicks from the older birds....looking good for the upcoming season.

I have been seeing more and more turkeys over the last few years. Without looking to hard, I have seen dozens of flocks rangeing from Christina Lake to Elko. On a short trip from Creston to Trail last week, my wife and I saw 8 different flocks.

I checked the regs and the season starts April 15 in parts of Regions 4, 8. Am I missing something?

My daughter lives in Trail and I told her we had seen a few turkeys on the way down to her place. She said if I wanted to see lots of turkeys just go to the garbage dump.

No, not missing anything, just like to hunt turkeys and really like what I am seeing so far on the survival of this years hatch and thus I'm looking forward to this spring season....

Got my first turkey last year north of grand forks while deer hunting. I didn't get a deer but was very pleased with the bird.
