Maybe they should stop mailing out $9 catalogues 3 times a year.

Space age clothing for longbow hunters using choppers to land on glaciers requiring crampons and ice axes.

Or come out with a road hunting line up.

I like to touch things before I buy them. Ill probably never own any of their gear since it's only online.

You'll never know what you have been missing then.
I have a lot of Kuiu gear and find the majority to be excellent in it's performance and durability. Like anything else though one needs to do their research and be selective on what they buy. My Cuz sold his Sitka and switched to Kuiu after see my gear and how it performed on a couple of sheep hunts. No way You would find me buying one of Kuiu's over priced/rated Tents, bags or Boots though.
Birdy tells me of a 30% off sale coming up.

I honestly don't know how anyone can preach for Sitka. I have tested both to the limits. Nothing even comes close to a pair of Yukon pants. They're bomb proof. Priced just as well as Sitka. Their packs are awesome. Their new tent is actually impressive too. Over priced yes. Face it if you can buy it at cabelas or wholesale it's probably crap. My two cents but what do I know

The Yukon gear is certainly part of the line there seems to be a ton of consensus around. I don't own any of it, but I am not sure I've seen a bad word about it. From what I recall.

Pretty sure if they're ever about to go out of business they will just open up Canadian distributors. They would sure sell a lot more stuff if it was more available without shipping and duties..

    HAHA!

In all seriousness Kuiu is fantastic gear. I have the attack pants (wear them for all hiking now, a merino zip-t, and guide beanie. Going to add a shell system next so I don't have to wear my Arcteryx (you want to talk about expensive!) next year in the rain/wind. Can't decide between Chugach or Yukon yet though.
Also, I like Jason's personal approach to the business. I know he struggles with stock, but I like to see a video with the dude who invented it talking to you about it. I like when I call up and immediately get a human being on the phone who, to save my Canadian ass money, is willing to hold my order until the last item comes in stock to save on shipping.
Great product, GREAT service, and even with the TERRIBLE exchange rate these days, still about par with Sitka's price point. Two years ago it was obviously cheaper but still worth it.

    Re: Kuiu forum

I love my Kuiu clothing but have to admit the forum was brutal. I think I typed on three threads and all three were removed because someone wrote a "not so glamorous review." It was heavily over regulated and therefore seemed dishonest.
Gotta say I love my Kuiu clothing though. I wear their pants every day that I don't wear shorts.
I stopped buying their product due to the dollar. Hope to get more soon though. Maybe if they could go back to producing some stuff in Canada again we could buy it here cheaper before it crossed the border two times.
Patiently waiting here on my roof for the mob of Zombies. Can't wait!!!
