Cellular Trail Cams that use BC cell tower infrastructure?

I’ve seen some dated threads on here about wireless trail cams. Unfortunately SpyPoint seems to continue to be plagued by issues, and I’m having trouble finding others that are high quality and compatible with, say, Telus.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Has anyone investigated whether these USA-specific models (i.e. 1stcampro) can be jailbroken?

    Thanks,

Ridgetec makes a good SIM card camera.

Have a few SPYPOINT micros, working good. What issues are you having?

I have spypoint micros and a couple chinese sunteks which seem to work really well on telus, only issue is they are a little too sensitive and need to be set to low sensitivity
other than that they all work great.

No issues, just read the more expensive models fail often. However I've also seen good reviews for the micros so maybe I need to think about those.

i've got 5 of the micros. Few tips:
place camera about 4' off the ground
point away from the sun if possible.
update firmware before putting out in the field. New version allows HD pic download on demand.
I use energizer lithium batteries, cameras been out 4-6 months now with fairly regular activity and still show 100%
As long as you have 2+ bars signal showing on the app, you'll get notifications 2-5 minutes after photo taken. Higher signal gives faster notification. Had a site with 1 bar and only got pics sent every 2-3 days as signal faded in and out.

Sounds like these Micros work. Thanks.

Has anyone looked into whether these are unlockable, much like a cell phone would be?

Not sure why it would need to be unlocked. It comes with the pre-installed SIM that included the data required to send you 100 pictures a month for free. There's no monthly fee if you stick with the base plan. The only limitation is that you have to use their app vs some other vendors actually text you the picture.
