Over 10 young ones in this clutch, saw 3 pairs all with over 10 young in an hour!
Hiding...but Chas found him!

what kind of quail are they ?ones i saw were much smaller as i remember.
California quail
A rare bird around these parts, but I have seen a couple over the years around Castlegar. One was sitting on a fencepost singing the oddest song. Wish we had them, as I wonder what they taste like.
They'll never end hunting...may make it illegal, but they'll never really kill that way of life!
They taste really good. More of an appetizer, but succulent like young grouse. Can't throw a stick without hitting one is the south okanagan valley. I have a 12 acre lot and have about 5 groups of 30-40 birds.

zaconb,
I'm in the same boat. I can't wait to hit my Blue grouse hot spot. I've been working my dogs hard. I have a 20 month old English Pointer that is gun shy. My other is almost 4 and she's a bird hunting machine. I can't wait.
doesnt matter what kind of bullet it is, as long as it weighs 180 grains its DEADLY, even on ass shots....Todbartell-2009
Yup, love bird hunting!!
