I've heard that "Birtie" makes nice bows. Any idea of what he charges?

As for not being comfortable shooting higher than 55lbs - I'm right there with you on that one. My limit (for comfort and longevity) seems to be 45 - 50 bs.

I seem to remember he's right around the 3 bill range, but of course that was a while ago.

I'm really happy with the one he built for me, I should have just swallowed my pride and gotten it 5# lighter (it's 58#).

    Cheers,

Yeah Grant, I hear you. I'm sending mine back to be 'adjusted' downward to between that 45 - 50 lb sweet spot area. It ought to be much more comfortable (fun) to shoot after I get it back.

I've just dropped down to my old 45# recurve. It's not as fast as my new longbow, but it is smoother.
Even though it is much slower, I seem to be more accurate at unknown ranges.

It sort of proves something to me: I loose more points through just missing then through misjudging the range.
