    tree stands

I have a couple of questions for all you experienced bow hunters out there! I am really just getting into the hunting part of it. I have been shooting compounds on and off for a couple of years and have recently switched to a traditional bow. Do you need a tree stand to be a successful bowhunter? Being primarliy a rifle hunter I could see stalking animals with a bow to be a challenge but I don't want to stack the odds too much. Any other methods out there that work.

    Thanks for any tips

Not at all. A treestand does have some advantages but is not necessary to be sucessful.I have taken deer and bears with my bow standing on the ground. A few bowhunters prefer to use a ground blind and are sucessful. Good quiet camo and being as scentfree as possible and good hunting skills can get you close enough for that shot.Remember which ever way you are going to hunt, whether it a ground blind or treestand, practice shooting out of your blind or stand wearing the clothes you will be hunting in.
