This may answer a few questions. I listened to it while driving from Kamloops to Vancouver to work, seemed pretty informative.

Hey folks,
I have a general understanding of the LEH process but have a couple of questions:
- Is there a limit to the number of LEH applications you can submit?
- I don't totally understand how the First/Second choice system works. If I have a couple of LEH hunts I want to apply for am I better to put them into the same request and assign a 1st/2nd choice or to submit them both as first choices in separate requests?
I'm no expert on LEH strategies, but I'm pretty sure you can only put in one application per species - so one application for moose, one for sheep, one for elk etc. And then your second choice that will accompany any of those applications is for the same species, but in a different management unit. Good luck and welcome to HBC

Yes you could make your second choice for the same species anywhere in the province.
You can only get your second choice if the allotment of draws has not been used up by those who put it down as their first choice. So the odds have to be less than one to one. On the old card system I know some people that got their second choice in a high odds area, but either they put the numbers down wrong or those typing in the information at the time on the government end put it in wrong. I know of one guy on the old card system that got a grizzly bear draw where he had put in for moose. He swears he checked the numbers twice before mailing it in, so someone screwed up on the government side.
No one on their death bed ever said; I should have spent more time at work.
Ya there is no region restrictions for 1st and 2nd choice. My application has first and second choice for moose in different regions, no issue. Not that I actually expect to draw anything on the second choice based on the odds but you're not restricted to the same region
I’ve been applying for the Kamloops sheep draw since 2017, can I reasonably expect to get it this year finally after all this time? Want to book my holidays accordingly !
