How do I preserve grouse wings for dog training?
I read some say to borax it (but I wouldn't want to feed my dogs borax), some salt it and some freeze it.
Is there a proper way to preserve the wings?
Thx!

I just keep mine frozen with no treatment to them. I take them out for training and put them back in the freezer wrapped in a plastic bag when done until next time.
or behind the fold down seat in truck and forget about them for 9 months....
I would just do the refreeze idea.
or take the feathers off and glue 'em to something less deady.
All you need is the smell...as "duallie" suggests, I just pull out the flight feathers with pliers and then attach them to a homemade cloth tube (a sock works well) stuffed with cloth bits or old plastic grocery bags and firmly tie on a short cord for a throwing and release control handle. Using something soft is far better and more realistic than a piece of wood or the store-bought orange plastic training throws. It lasts a long time without problems when just using the feathers.
I think you can skin them from the bottom and then scrape any left over meat off and then salt them.
don't you own lap dogs?
be happy with the slippers.......
