Three of us went out looking for moose or deer. After hiking a couple kms into this swamp...I give a couple cow calls, 10 mins later across the swamp there is one of the biggest bulls I ever saw. After an hour or so we decided to pull out. We only have the 2 point tags so away we went.
Another few kms up the road we did some more hiking and saw nothing but sign.....moose , deer, and more wolf track than I ever saw before.
Up the road we go into the end of the spur. I had just said maybe the wolfs cleaned out all the deer when my bud said look deer. Out we get and its hammer time. Only saw the 3x3....buddy took a shot and missed.the deer started to leave the scene, so I hammered him with the 300wm, double lung and down he goes. I turn back for high fives....and when I turn around again there is more deer coming out of the little draw.....I holler to the cousin, and bang he nails the other buck. Bullshit luck but dam he shot it right in the nose lol. Said he held a little too high.
All said and done it was a awesome day.Mine is a 3x3 and his is a 5x4. Cant wait to get my elk and some whitetails.
