One of the usual suspects that is fairly predictable.
This younger age class of bucks seem to hold more.
He posed nicely so I wished to share the video.

Checked a group of cams yesterday.
Few does and young bucks.....pretty quiet overall.
Ran into this little fella on the way home.
This is a good sized rattlesnake for the interior.
They don't get much longer....but can get quite a bit thicker.
Although a bit intimidating they really are a passive animal seldom showing aggression.

theres those split g2 genetics again, nice looking wt!
The usual slow down on the WT front come late summer continues.
This predictable young little 4 point might be a bit of a looker with a couple more yrs.
Has decent height and width already.

Here he is again with of a few of his young friends.
There are several very solid bucks that have been MIA for over a month now.
History has shown they will show again at some point.

Another week of none of the players making an appearance.
There is still a percentage of deer that are repeat bucks and seem to be holding in the general area.
Had a flush of three younger, never seen before bucks, come thru appearing on multiple cams over a couple days....then gone. The inconsistent ebb and flow of inventory can really mess with a guy's head when trying to nail down patterns that can be exploited. I think back to putting Coach onto his deer last yr....there were 3 other sites within a km that were dead....yet that spot went white hoy over a 3 day window with numerous bucks appearing in daylight hrs.
I get hundreds of cam videos to sort thru every week so you can get a bit numb to it at times.
This video stood out to me for 2 reasons.
Firstly, some should get a kick out of the interaction of this little buck and the raven.
What really caught my eye with this little spiker is, what appears to be, the potential of a quasi double main beam on both sides. Note his left side, there is an apparent 3rd tine growing out the back of the base.
This little fella has the hallmarks of potentially being a very "junky" and "messy" buck in the years to come.
It would be interesting to chronicle his development over the years and see where these unusual antlers end up.

I have a series of cams in an different area dedicated for elk in support of a friend we would like to see put a bull on the ground. No shortage of elk action.
What is interesting from a Whitetail perspective is I have never got a WT on cam in the one spot.
Last week I dropped in another cam 300 yards lower down.
Picked up a WT right away???
Point.......the cam site 300 yards away.....that has been active for 11 months....has never captured a WT.
They are an interesting critter.

Worth sharing.
This spike elk got a case of the funk on.
No bugs here so he was just being goofy.
