Killable as he has been consistent.

How did the Rut go? Was tough with such mild weather in all the usual whitey holes.

Re: Some Big Whities For Ya...

Grampa disappeared from November 9 th until Dec 3 when he showed up on camera again. Once again he survived rifle season.

From that point on he was a regular visitor and with his age I figured he might slip up this year....especially with the cold snap we went thru at the end of archery season.

On the last weekend of archery season he was there until 5 minutes before legal light. That was the closest he has ever come to making a daylight appearance. Even most of the does were nocturnal this year where I hunt.

I snowshoed in to check the cams yesterday and found these.

Here he is on Dec 20th.

    And on Dec 21st

    Dec 22nd

So guess who showed up for dayshift on the morning of the 23rd??? This is his first daylight appearance in the 5 years that I have him on cam.
This is a fairly heavily hunted area that is also usually polluted with cats thru the winter.

I tip my hat to this buck

If he survives this winter he will be 9 or 10 this spring. Hopefully we will meet face to face one day.....
