    Hey Amp , I agree with Leftcoast . Chek-Mate is the best bow value out there. Your choice in the TD Hunter 11 is what I would recomend .

    shot a 55# checkmate recurve at courtenay rod and gun 3-d shoot this weekend.marks bows are amazing.very lil hand shock ,very smooth.and fast.i highly recomend purchasing 1.i am ordering bows for my kids and another flat bow for myself.buy 1 you wont regret it!!!

    I have a Chek-mate 1 and really like it. Try and find a store that has some for sale or buy used. If you order direct from the builder you will be waiting a long time. There was a couple for sale on Cdn Gun Nutz.

    I understand they now have a Take-Down Hunter 111 . The shoot ability of the TD 11 was a lot better than it`s predecessor and am looking forward to the TD 111.

    We have three shooters in our family and all of them shoot Checkmate Bows and in fact one of them (me) has well more than a few...

    Check the comments on Tradgang.com and you will find that they are often rated as the most bow you can get for the money....

    The Hunter lll has a smaller riser handle than the ll I believe.

    Hey RoscoeP , I think that would provide even more shoot ability as there would be less hand torque involved and with riser mass to each side of your bow hand where it is effective .
