Good story. The version I heard was about two hunters somewhere up in the Yukon or NWT. I heard it from the guy who sells radar equipment and other police and emergency equipment, about six years ago, when I was in Rose Valley.
My buddy and I were coming in off the field one night just after dark. My dog was sitting in between us as usual. We were in an old truck and were just putting along slowly. My dog spotted what we all thought was a rabbit in the summerfallow. My buddy let the dog out on the run. The dog tore off out into the field and made a big circle back to the truck. My buddy opened the door and the dog bailed in on the go. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH! The "rabbit" was a friggin' skunk! The dog cruised by the skunk, got sprayed and figured he might as well just head back to the truck. Phew!! Needless to say, the dog rode in the back of the pickup on the way home!! THAT is a true story!!
