    Shooting and FSRs

    Hey all,

So the regs are pretty clear regarding shooting near park roads, highways etc, but what about FSRs? Is there a road allowance? Or is it legal to pull over and take a shot at an animal you see on a FSR?

    Thanks!

If it's a gravel road and not in a special area map in the regs. Have at it, it's not called road hunting for nothing LOL
Take a kid hunting its more rewarding than shooting an animal yourself!!

I never asked during my CORE course but some people have aluded to the fact that your mode of trans CANNOT be used to steady your shot. Is this fact or fiction. I get it that you cant shoot from inside the vehicle unless you are handicapped(ie. wheelchair bound), but over the hood or box?
I consider "for fun" to be adequate reason enough...

do a search on that one. it has been discussed in great detail and members have posted replies from CO's about it.
Short answer. NO its not illegal to get out of your truck and use the hood as a rest.

Read regs. Has to do with how many lanes a paved road has and the distances from their center lines.

As long as the firearm is Not in contact with the vehicle it is legal to shoot. IF the road is not maintained by public funds, you can shoot on it.
