buying scope from USA?

Anyone have done this before?
Since I live only 30mins away from border, I usually go pick up stuffs at border.
When I tried to place order from us website, it says that items cant not be shipped to Canada.

Do I need to get import permission in order to bring scope from US?

You need a import permit for anything that goes in or attaches to a gun. Maybe try doing a quick search on this topic.

ive got a good optics hookup from plainsight solutions on cgn and he gives really good prices. sometimes even better than us prices. my friends and i have ordered tons of stuff from him already. im only 20 mins from the border (pt roberts) and i dont bother getting optics in the states.

My grandpa just grabbed me a Nikon monarch on his last bus tour to the Casino in Washington. He didn't seem to have any problems lol. I guess that could have gotten pretty ugly tho.

I called the border only some scopes of extreme power you can't bring back. different classes of scopes. A 3-9 is fine. I got my Nikon Buck master for 150 down there

I just recently brought back a scope from cabelas. And I have researched quite a bit on this topic if you read the cbsa website it states that the only thing that you would need permits for is the receiver or a firearm

Don't forget to ask for lube when there putting on the glove or you could do more research on exporting from the US, the choice is yours.

It is not the Canadian Customs, it is not the American Customs, it is Homeland Security which sets up periodic checks on vehicles prior to arriving at the Canadian border coming from The States. If they catch you with any item which is deemed to threaten the security and safety of the American people you could loose your privileged to visit The United States and risk confiscation of your vehicle.. As the person from Homeland Security in Seattle Washington told me on the phone-"the chances of getting caught might be slim but are the repercussions worth the risk?"
