Camouflage Vs. No camouflage?

Hello, I am brand new to hunting and I have so many questions. Most answers I am quickly finding by doing research and reviewing other threads, but I cant seem to find a straight answer for this: Camo or not? I am looking to get into big game hunting in BC regions 2 and 3. I understand that it obviously helps, but is it essential?
If yes, what brands/types of gear would experienced hunters recommend and why? And do the different camo patterns make a difference?
And if no, what alternatives do you suggest?

Sorry I forgot the joke!!

Two hunters were dragging their dead deer back to their car. Another hunter approached pulling his along too.

"Hey, I don't want to tell you how to do something ... but I can tell you that it's much easier if you drag the deer in the other direction. Then the antlers won't dig into the ground."

After the third hunter left, the two decided to try it.

A little while later one hunter said to the other, "You know, that guy was right. This is a lot easier!"

"Yeah, but we're getting farther from the truck," the other added.

no not essential, I've killed lots of stuff wearing red and orange clothes.

Big game animals (deer, moose, elk, etc.) are colour blind, so there is really no need for camo, just wear bright orange so you won't get shot. Straight Shootin.

Big game animals are not colour blind....they just see and different spectrum of light than you or I....most are blue to ultra voilet so reds look black to them.

My uncle has pictures of himself with some nice Mulies and sheep and he's wearing jeans and a red flannel shirt. I'm sure camo doesn't hurt but I don't think it's essential.

was gonna say more trophies have been killed over the years by guys in wranglers, flannel shirts and trapper nelsons than guys decked out in kuiu and mystery ranch

The only ones which might need camouflage are predators and birds.
