Grizzly killed- just in the nick of time

I see where a sow and two cubs attacked a hunting party up around Fort St.John, and the sow was killed. The CO said the cubs are in the area and will be shot as well.Obviously they see them as a threat that needs to be removed[ pretty common sense thinking ]
This news will come as a great relief to the animal rights industry as it gets the story in the news and an opportunity for them to get the donation dollars flowing in again[ which it is all about]Look for letters to the editor and radio show call in's protesting ''sport'' hunting[ never mind that we actually eat the meat] and calling for renewed bans against killing any bear, for any reason. They haven't had a ''story'' for a while, so this comes just in the nick of time to get the money coming in again
This of course, has nothing to do with bears, conservation, or anything else, but rather replentishing their coffers with donations by well meaning but uniformed people

Damn Grizzlys, Somebody should take some of the tree huggers and the over paided burecrats out to the bush and tie them to a fresh kill for a few
days. Then let them decide if Grizzly,s are the cute won't bother you if you just leave them alone type animal they think they are.

whatthe rest of us hunter types refuse to accept is grizzlies are really vegetarians....and if you sing to them , and rub their bellies, they are very friendly puppies. That chap up north last year[ the one who ended up in bear scat] said so....

After that Blast guys you should check out Gary Sheltons books on grizzlys. They are down right scary and side with the people who work
and play in the bush.Deady Bear attacks is one of them and He has two others. Quite an eye opener to say the least

the fact is, grizzlies are at the top of the food chain with no natural preditors, so that basically makes them king of the moutain.Fortionately, they generally shy away from people, but as far as I am concerned, they are best viewed with binoculars .I am afraid these ''eco'' type tours are acquainting the bears with humans, and the risk is they will start to associate humans with food. The safest bear is a bear that avoids all human contact.

Grizzly killed- just in the nick of time

there is was-the first letter to the editor in this mornings Times Colonist'Grizzlies killed as humans ''invade'' their territory. The writer charges the hunter[ who was attacked as he field dressed his elk]''killed'' the ''mother'' grizzly and demands to know why the CO was going to kill the ''defenseless cubs[two yearolds-wonder if he's ever seen a two year old grizzly's teeth and claws?]
Good letter- should bring in some good donation money, but they should have called the hunter[ who was out to get his winter's supply of meat] a ''sport'' hunter- that's generally good for a few bucks too.
