I have been monitering some travel routes and finally the first tracks just showed the last 24 hrs. Does will be hitting the rut holes first , betting a buck or 3 will follow in a week...then all hell will break loose as usual ! CANT WAIT ! 3 more cams to go for a total 8 out there grabbing juicey pics of antler !!!
do any of you have any pictures of the type of areas you hunt.. not asking you to reveale any areas of course
guess I better throw in what was conected to the antler !
The photos above show what big bucks hang in !
Nice buck Steve what year did you get that one.
Mike
I like to walk until I am exhausted ...... Then I turn around and go back
I forced a 'hangover hike' the very next morning after Bartel shot his monster with me.im thinking 4 yrs ago now ? Have to check his thread.
The season was closing and I had a feeling lighting wasn't going to strike twice un one week for a 145" plus buck so I thumped him , funny it still won our club contest , fun day.
Great pictures! Do you find that video mode works better on the tcams? Ive found that having mine set on picture mode seems to spook the deer somewhat and then they start avoiding where i have the cameras set up.
I'm not worried about spooking them. All I am looking for is ONE pic of the 'right' deer......then its 'ON' He could never walk by a cam again but I dont care cause I know hes alive now and then its time to put the puzzle together. You cant 'pattern' a true trophy blacktail ( might if you have one feeding on crops) , one pic is all a guy needs...after that the cam wont do shit for you in harvesting one.
I use 3 pic bursts so I have a better chance of a clear shot on a brute. I like to leave my cams out for a month or two as well so I dont have it on video as I'm thinking it kills the battery faster.
