I have finally got around to posting some of this years hunting season pictures. I posted the moose guiding season in the VI and Coast forum by mistake.
A buddy and I went on a labour day goat hunt in the mountains north of town. It was his second goat hunt and he was looking for a good goat. It was a great hunt, saw 9 goats in two days but none that we wanted to put a scope on. Three were billies and the biggest was around 8". Here is a few pictures of the country
Day # 1
The mountain as seen from below. I have shot a couple of nice goats off here in the past so we know they are there.
Some of the country goats like to call home
Day # 2
This is a great little mountain to hunt. Lots of goats, with some pretty repectable billies around. About a 3 hour hike up.
This the three billies we saw and stalked to within about 500 yards before determining they were not what we were looking for.
All in all it was a great trip, excellent weather and a good friend to hunt with. Next year I will back up here and maybe we can find a good one or two.
