    Highly recommended to all outdoorsmen!
About 1 1/2 years ago bought a pair of XL RedHead socks just north of Calgary. I have been wearing them almost everyday. They get a 10 out of 10. For comfort & warmth they're hard to beat even when wet.
Over 80% wool (Merino I think). Lifetime Guarantee. THE LAST SOCKS YOU'LL EVER NEED TO BUY!
Liked them so much bought 3 more pairs this summer at the same place.

my wife would be howling if she saw this thread with 4 pages of comments on socks....I have 2 drawers of socks (much to her chagrin...heheheh) I always wear the fake work socks (nylon) with 70% wool ones overtop....they work perfectly even in summer

For the last 10 years, I've been wearing the Costco 4 pack socks, everyday year round. 70% + merino wool. They probably don't last quite as long as brands like Wigwam and such but at about 3 bucks a pair, they are durable enough to be by far the best value. Wear them skiing, working, hunting, lounging around the house, running, mtn biking, etc.

How thick are the Redhead socks? I need a thick pair for my hunting boots.

They start out real thick but they seem to lose their loft quite quickly. I've got over a dozen pairs of the Redhead Socks. They are my favorite sock for around the house and general everyday. They don't have the loft I need for extended hiking though and not very warm in cold weather, with my boots anyways. It is nice when they get a hole though and it's an over-the-counter exchange. Smart marketing gimmick to keep you coming back to the store, lol!
