Yup.......looks like his first four or five arrows hit the mark (right in the pump) so he backed up to 80 yards to finish that bruiser off.

When using arrows to make head shots on deer, I tend to use field points, as they will penetrate the skull better than broadheads.

Lets try and get this thread back on track!

I think the ideal shot placement is half way between the rear corner of the eye and the ear (Broadside)
But my fav is right between the eyes ..........whistle or snort, get them looking straight at you, and locked on........then blamo.

People have tried head shots with guns too Jeff. Same result.

not even close ...you saying your arrow will do as much damage asd my 180 grain bullet coming with 3500 ft lbs..not likely ...so it aint the same

Is there any preferred methods for head shots on game - like how to anticipate their movements to give you an edge for killing? What distances do you like to hold shots to - 40 yards or closer? Brain shot? Jugular shots?
