my uncle bought the tikka t3 lite in 338 win mag every shot we took the mag fell out took it back twice to have it worked on still happened so he had enough and said give me the browning hand has not looked back. and the xbolt is unreal on cutting out the recoil. the tikka kicked like a mule. im actually about to by a new xbolt my self have two on hold just trying to pick the cal. i want having a hard time between 7mm and 300win i'm still leaning towards 7mm
If you only plan to have one main rifle to shoot with I would go with the .30-06 X-bolt over the .270, but that's just me.
I have both Tikkas and X-bolts and I prefer the X-bolts.
As has been said, the duratouch stock is awesome and the recoil pads are far superior in the X-bolts.
Stainless is a must!
Patiently waiting here on my roof for the mob of Zombies. Can't wait!!!
Go for the X-Bolt. I really like the function of the safety, Once you find your target it is seamless to release the safety and fire. The stock has a real good feel to it and the recoil pad is very forgiving. But it really comes down to how the gun fits you.

I said I'd never buy another browning after they messed me around.....
Just purchased a 338 mag X bolt, stain/sen. She's beautiful!!
I have an X-Bolt and love it. All the browning products I own have lived up to their reputation thus far. I have to say however, that my buddy has a tika and I almost prefer the action of his gun. Both are great--depends on where your loyalty sits.
