Ruger...........sorry had to put my 2 bits in.
Ruger...........sorry had to put my 2 bits in.
I have a PHD is "Campfire BS". An avid hunter fisher man. Love shooting trap as much as shooting the bull. The more BS in my story the greater I am.
Thanks all. From the beginning i thought it might be the xbolt. From the first time i picked it up, i went "oh baby". But i did that too with the sako finnlite, but ruled that one out after i picked myself off the floor,$$.
This is harder than buying a truck. Have a great weekend and thankyou.
No need to be sorry. (Have not picked up a Ruger)
went from x bolt to tc icon sure glad i did it"s (awesome.)
Rugers are cheaper but still a nice product. You can get a stainless hawkeye for less than a blued x-bolt and the quality is comparable. Plus they come with rings.
I really like my x-bolt but I'm noticing that my rugers are finding there way to the front of the cabinet.
But then what do I know? I'm just a lowly woodcutter.
picked up a leupold vx1 3-9x40 and put my name on the xbolt. thanks a bunch all. now i can focus on the may interior fishing trip. then gun'n when i get back..............cheers
Go with what you like better and fits you, that said I love my Tikka t3 lite in 270win and yes I would get stainless.
good choice i have the xbolt in 30-06, i dont ever plan on buying another rifle i love it so much
My .270 stainless stalker is my go to gun. So good I may put up my Remington M700 stainless synthetic .338 for sale and buy another X-Bolt.
hmmm HATE Browning..had 2 and both were loose pigs..second needed considerable aftermarket help to render it into a gem.and $$$..my next rife was a SAKO a8 love it...
For hunting go stainless steel...and synthetic..much more forgiving in wet, salt, rocky..fly in ..you know..HUNTING..
cheers
Steven
I own both, I like the tikka's bolt, very smooth. But overall I prefer the xbolt, seems to be better constructed and feels more suited to my body.
