"Becoming an Outdoors Woman" (BOW) program

Anyone have some experience / feedback on this program?

Figure my spouse may enjoy it and could plan a family trip to the island that incorporates this camp.

Never heard anything but good things from those that get involved. Check out the BCWF website for more info. The next outing is the 2012 Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) Weekend – June 1 - 3, 2012 in Lake Cowichan. You can also contact the BOW Coordinator directly , Darlene Clark (dclark8@shaw.ca) and ask her what ever you like.

The BOW program is great! I was an instructor at one on vancouver island. The cources included archery-.22 shooting basics[federal provided the ammo]-canoeing-fly fishing-etc-I taught the wilderness survival and orienteering cources. The program was a very quality experience for all ! We should have one for guy's aswell for the kids and newbies

My wife took it a few years back and had a great time. They not only gutted, skinned and cut up a (farmed) deer but they dissected the organs and had a real close look at all of the deer.

The ladies usually get to choose a few activities to do over the weekend.

I still can't get her to spend a week in the bush camp though. Maybe that is for the better, I don't know.

She does ALWAYS help me with making the burger, sausage and the wrapping. I am grateful BOW showed her that.
