I have no scientific data, there are still mule deer in the EK.
Some of the bucks are 4 points,which I can still count, and hike high enough to find.

Be interesting to see if the reduction in elk and WTD have had any positive impacts on the mulies.

Pretty hard to tell what if any thing had any positive impact on the mulies since to many things done at once.
Know were a few of there collared deer travel and were they are now and were some went that they didn't no about
and ended up till they were told since there collars were not working.
Did find it surprising this year the number of deer seen in one area we use to hunt. The main thing noticeable there
is limited viechle access and no new logging.
Another small area seemed to be coming back in population but 2 years ago new roads were punched through it and
logging so it is back to square one. A third area had was dropping didn't have could survival rate of fawns/yearlings
would find lots of fawns killed by coyotes in the area, then for a few years coyotes were pretty much gone due to a
few wolves that would pass through and a cat family in the area, we were seeing a increase in the mule deer the
yearlings were making it through the winter, then a local rancher killed the cat family and a couple of the wolves
and the coyotes were back and mule deer down again.
The town deer even seem to be dropping in some areas as well.

So, you believe that researchers can't come to any correct conclusions 'cause it is too complicated,
