Has anyone had experience hunting blue grouse? I've only ever seen one once, at high elevation near Lillooet.

Yippers.......I usually find them along the roads.........Give them a .22 pill......Strap on the ole feed-bag.......And enjoy .
As I ponder this, it seems to me that 3500' is the magic # late fall (?) I find them to be more common than others.

There are lots of Blue Grouse here on the Northern Island, but there are more Ruffled Grouse.
We tripped over quite a few above Murray lake this past weekend, they were up over 4500'.
Take a kid hunting its more rewarding than shooting an animal yourself!!
On bow opener we found a covey of about 12 in Princeton area, they must have had a copy of the regs with them. I could have killed them all with a stick, as not a single one of them was "twitchy".
