    Hurricane Winds, Forest Fires and a First Bear!!!!!!

    Well we got back from the north country last night. It was a good trip but was one heck of an adventure. Started out with unbelievable winds that were making bear movement less than what it should have been. We did end up seeing a total of 16 bears and 2 wolves in 4 days hunting. With a few missed opportunities we were able to tag this bear on Sat. evening on a spot and stalk. With a well placed shot at just over 200yrds my wife had her first bear.
    With my Aunt running the forestry warehouse we were in the loop pretty good on the fires and got out of town via back roads after the highways were closed.
    While we had a great time it was definitely over shadowed by the catastrophe that is taking place. With many friends of the family having lost their homes and my Aunt still unsure on hers we still wait the total outcome, our prayers go out to all the residents of Slave and surrounding communities!

    Nice pics. Yeah AB is going to have a tough summer is seems, our camp has been evacuated due to one of the fires.
    My buddy has 7 fires around his place and trees coming down all over his property, one landing on his kennel.

    Congratulations to you and the Family on the successful Bear Hunt. Man those high winds must have been very annoying hey. Sweet rifle as well Stoneguide.
