I have to ask what it is in particular you are having a problem finding? The shops on the prairies pretty much concentrate on mallards, pintails and geese. I've bought a lot of my stuff at Cabelas US online. I also check Roger's, Mack's PW, Kruger farms. I have found some deals by searching the particular deke you are looking for, sometimes they turn up in odd places for a great deal, as good as 1/2 price in a store that got stuck with some here and there. I would not recommend Redhead dekes. Dunn's had goose shells on for 49.00/doz last year, Higdon's. Found FA shells at 75.00/doz. May not find them this week, try again next wk and keep looking til you get what you want.

I love going to Cabelas, Bass Pro etc. but often their selection in-stock is a fraction of what they have in their catalog. Unless you go in the fall, you may be surprised how few decoys you see on the floor.

If you are looking for something very specific and/or are looking for the best possible deal, your best bet is prob to order online from one of the US places listed in the thread and have em sent to a postal store in WA (or ship Cabelas stuff to their store in Lacey).

There are free shipping deals on the Dunns site right now, and others have occasional shipping discounts too.

For really unusual stuff, try Knutsons too. They sell some decoys I have never seen anywhere else.

If you make the drive to Lacey, check out Sportco in Fife or Outdoor Emporium in Seattle on the way.

    Happy shopping!

Once you've been to Cabela's you'll find excuses to go back! Best to have it shipped to the store if you really want to make sure they have it, afterall they are in fishing mode now. Check out the bargain cave too, dekes often go on sale this time of year just so that they have less stuff in their warehouse. Oh and so you know, unless you have the correct paperwork, it is ILLEGAL for canucks to buy shells etc down south, no one will stop you, but the people who might will ruin more then your day!

Definitely go south of the border. I don't think they have the greatest variety of decoys but I've found some awesome deals on gear at Yeager's Sporting Goods in bellingham. A trip to cabelas is always a good time as long as you can stand the drive but I would make sure you call ahead to see if what youre looking for is there before you leave

If youre going to get something shipped to a US Shipper/Receiver i would recommend TSB shipping in point roberts. $3 per package, rarely a wait at the border and it's not listed as a PO Box so everyone will ship there

We spent 4 hours in Cabela's in Post Falls ID and they had quite the selection of deke's there. One whole Aisle / racks of decoys and the other side full of dekes for training dogs!

It won't help you for this season, but Cabela's is in middle of the construction of a new store in Marysville. I believe it will open in the Spring of 2012. Part of the Tulalip Casino complex and that will be a much more reasonable drive for you BC sportsmen.
Why do the ducks come just after I pour my coffee?
