    Mikeys Elite Pure Review

Bow:2011 Elite Archery Pure 29" draw set at 66#
arrows: Easton ACE 400s weighing in at 339 grains (5.13 Grain per pound)

So I unpackaged this bow thursday morning ... put some stuff on it (sight stab, peep etc) ... set it all up via eyeball and went to range ... stood at 10 yards and shot the first arrow out of it .... I was on the gold of a 40cm target ....shot 2 arrows at that to make sure .... moved back to 20 zeroed my sight for 20 yards... that took 3 ends to be zeroed. and started smacking arrows...change target to 3 spot (easton Ace are extremely skinny arrows )..... and it was shooting Xs all night long (as long as I did my part)

there were a few people at the range that night and all commented on how quiet this bow is ... the dont hear it go off ...just my arrow impacting the target face.

Today I chronyed the bow at 321 Feet per second I enquired to Elite how this was possible since its advertised IBO is 316-320 for a 29" draw ... they said to me that they conservatively advertise their bows with in mind that real people have stuff on their string(peeps brass nock points, loops, kissers, etc) I have a super ball peep, tied nock points and a light BCY material loop and my bow falls right in line with their expectations

I have never gotten that kind of speed out of any bow I have ever owned with a smooth easy draw and a 7" brace height. I was getting that(319 actually) with my Hoyt Supertec at a 5.75" brace and limbs maxed out to 71 pounds and agressive as hell spiral cams.

I havent shot it at any distance yet but I have shot 20 and 30 yards in my driveway and I am grouping within 2" at 30 (all black on a bulldog target)

Bear in mind I havent done any super tuning just yet ... this is basically right out of the box.

All else I can is wow! ... it was well worth the wait

Draw cycle is smooth ... and I personally find it easier to draw than my last Binary cam bow set at 55 pounds and I am getting about the same speed out of it at IBO specs ... I got 319 personally when set up with the same stuff on the string.

the finish is awesome ... bright and bold .... many people have commented on Elites finish ...pictures dont do it justice, they truely are works of art, In about 3 weeks I will be receiving an Elite Hunter Model for a friend that ordered it in Max 1 camo ....with a black riser ... that will be another work of art....

I was skeptical of Elite when they first came out and even recently when they sold to a new company ..... I am now an Elitest for sure

If your in the market for a new bow ...Check em out ... you wont be disapointed

4 lbs under the IBO standard of 70 lbs and 1" shorter than the standard 30" DL, and you're still getting their top speed?!? Damn, I gotta get me one of those!

    Got any pics Mike?

For the last 3 yrs I have been shooting the Elite Z28. It will be quite a while before I put this bow away for a hunting rig.
I,m getting 306 FPS with a 406 gr arrow @ 29" / 71 lbs. Best of all this thing is so smooth it feels like 64-66 lbs.

Lemme clarify ... standard IBO rating is as you 350 grain at 70 pounds at 30" ... Elite has done IBO rating for all differant draw lenths ....
Standard IBO at 30, 70 and 350 is 326-330 as you can see here ...

Kinda tough to take pics while shooting ... gotta line up on the wife to snap a few shots (the key to succesfull marraige is conflicting schedules ... never time to fight or anything ...LOL) .... Tonite when i get home I will take some pics ... as I have it built the way I think I wanna shoot it this year ... I might add some side weight to counter my sights weight ... but I dont think it will be much maybe 2oz on a 4" side bar
