Would like to get into alpine hunting, but need a few questions answered

First question, Do you guys know any good spots around mcbride, (not asking for your secret spot just good areas), second could I see some of your camps , third is it possible to get to good areas without walking for a day or two, or can I go for day hikes from a fsr? Thanks

    2)

    3) Definitely do not NEED to hike a day or two deep. I am not sure about Mcbride, but most everywhere else in BC, there is lots of alpine that is pretty good that you can get into with a 1-3hr hike. The further the better sometimes though if areas are getting pressured hard

On the highway from PG to McBride, find a FSR, and drive up it. Get out and walk down an FSR and then you will find gladed areas or cuts... Hike through there and you will find game trails and you will find the critters!

I took a 30 min walk and hiked into a cut and saw a huge Bull moose. It was an area that it was logged about 20+ years ago so the road in was grown over and deactivated. best place to start becasue no one else will be around you.

You can see 95% of them on google earth, but a backroads mapbook is an invaluable investment

    No problem.

Backroads map books can be found anywhere and everywhere. This one is a good start. http://www.recreationalatlas.com/bc1.html They have others that are broken down into regions.
