Careful on this one.....
My Horton, where the string slides on the rail, has a specific "rail lube" made by Horton...Designed to easily slide the string down the rail without rotting out the string....I do not believe its petroleum based....
My FIL tried some "deck wax" from a different company and it slowed the string down considerably and would actually make smoke from the friction....
