I picked up a Slik Sprint Pro II this spring for $90 in the US. I like it sitting or on the tailgate of the pickup. Fully extended it is tall enough to stand behind but nor steady unless you lay a hand or two on it to dampen it. I run the Leupold GR 12-40 x 60 HD on it. I like the simple ball head that comes with this tripod! It is adequate for my use for many applications and weighs about 1.8#s if i remember correctly. I like it so far.

Note that I have a really heavy old Manfrotto with a Bogen pistol grip head as well and it is just the ticket for standing behind, but is big and heavy.......probably weighing 10#s. It takes up alot of room in the pickup if you have more than two people on an outing.
