There was the yearly article in the Vancouver sun today about dead swans and lead shot. They said last year they found 52 and that 8 of them were from lead poisoning. This year they have found 70 of which 32 died from lead poisoning.

    Re: Found a dead swan

Found one today at the ducks unlimited field at cowichan bay. It was laying on it's belly and something had been feeding on it. Flipped it over and the breast was still intact. It was pretty close to the power lines so I"m assuming it hit one of the lines. It had a bit of a grey face telling me it was a fairly young bird but the head on these birds are huge.
