    Duck Hunting Saturday

My dad and I got out Saturday. The weather was not duck hunting weather at all. Both dad and I were feeling down, and the night before I was coming down with a bug and started to get a fever, but I still managed to drag my tired butt around for a few hours.

Action was steady and slow, and our first shots didn't go off until after 9:00am. Some birds decoyed well, others were wary (I blame it on the weather). And with the two of us not feeling good, our shooting definately was not at its finest. But we still had a nice morning in the field, with lots of coffee, sandwiches, clear skies, advil, and eventually 7 nice plump mallards to bring home. So in the end, it was certainly a great day.

I am at home sick today, time to go back to bed...

    Good shooting!

Love those nice fat mallards this time of year.
Drinking rum before 10 a.m. does not mean you are an alcoholic, it means you are a pirate.

I got my 8 on saturday, but it was a mixed bag (with only one greenhead) so I wouldn't be feeling too bad about 'only 7' of em because with all of em being greenheads it's kind of a quality over quantity thing!
