Go into the store on a cloudy/rainy day at around 4pm and look through both. Compare them carefully. Make an informed choice that fits your particular eyes. Everyone is different.

Love my 10 powers. I take alot of pics through my binos too, and having that 10x is good for getting some longer range shots. I have the Bushnell excursions and have never had a problem.

I prefer 8x, wider field of view, easy to steady image, and brighter.

I like 10X in good glass. But I tried out a pair of little buggers today Kowa 8x25 and was actually pretty impressed out to about 300 yards at dark through first light!

The 8X seem to be used for birding around the ranch a good mix for short range and med range.

I think that is the correct answer.

I'm planning on getting some 6 or7x small binos for stalking blacktails in thicker cover, and use my 10X LEicas for everything else..
