Drinking rum before 10 a.m. does not mean you are an alcoholic, it means you are a pirate.

Is hunting there more weather dependant? are you looking for the crappy weather, ie windy, rainy?
Like most waterfowling, the dynamics and variables in Pitt Polder are in a constant state of flux. Terry is correct in that the birds sit in the local fields feasting on the buffet and sunbathing in tranquility on "good weather days".

Having hunted the Polder off and on for 40 years the surest observations are that the night flight is minimal, any wind that stirs up the lake usually gets them flying, precipitation doesn't seem to change things except to make boat access better or worse with the appropriate shooting opportunities (or lack thereof) based on water levels and the subsequent abilities to negotiate the choking weed growth. Sunny days can be good to pick out singles, doubles and the occasional flock of a dozen or so, but shooting generally is spotty; but this is true anywhere.

    Hope this helps.

I think that is the best part of this sport, close to home yet out in this great province. You don't have to drive hours to appreciate what we have ,and the hunting is even good sometimes..

    Uh oh.

Guys it's really not that nice. The water is high, it always rains, and there's not many birds out there. Pain in the ass to get to. Cold as hell.

No need to see for yourself. Trust me
