    Learn to read and interpret the regulations, especially the FVSHA map.

    To the young man I briefly chatted with as he was leaving the west dyke of the Pitt Marsh on Christmas day around noon, you can't shoot or hunt from the dykes that border non-shooting areas. Read the note on the map.

    If you would've picked up your spent shells, no one would've been the wiser.

    Just sayin.

    When ducks are flying toward you, it’s best not to call. Old-timers have a saying: “Call only to the T&A.” That is, do your calling when you can see one wingtip and the tail, or both wings and the tail. The ducks won’t be looking your way then, so it’s safe to blow the call.

    dont waste money on duck calls just unload your gun as loud as possible.
