    I shouldn't be laughing, but that's funny.

I remember drifting the upper Kispiox river during late flood stage. Was a little hungover and stopped around lunchtime for a nap. I woke up to water lapping at my toes and my canoe 40 ft downstream (I was smart enough at least to tie it)

    Gotta watch those mountain streams!

There is a reason they call this the wet coast. I've seen 50' cedars c/w root ball fly down island rivers (you could walk across these rivers in August and not get your calves wet). Good thing no trees "swept" through their camp.

thats nasty hope everybody was ok. rule number one on the island always find higher ground to camp on, dont camp any place close to the river or lakes edge. you might wake up with wet shorts, it happens quick.

Hopefully no one was hurt, but yeah its kinda irresponsible - especially this time of the year.

I got caught in that slide at the bottom of Heather Mtn/east Rogers Pass this last week and just with that amount of rain it was amazing to watch how quickly the water rose in that area. In a matter of a few hours the local rivers got pretty crazy in a bit hurry. Hopefully they've learned their lesson and will think twice next time before trying that again. LR
