heres a tarp a frame tent we when ice fishing with
10 10ft 2x4 and a couple tarps with a wood stove kept 4 of us warm for a couple nights
cheap and easy the floor was 14x2o

I split mine with my main hunting buddy, Our budget was about the same.. roughly 1500. Northwest shelters worked with us and gave us a great deal on stove and tent. Used it a bunch, -35 up north, even a little summer stuff. I have recently got northwest to add a second room with 8 more feet, we always used a tarp to make a porch area, so we figured why not just make it easier.... which is going to be amazing this year. couple pics..

bimmerbob, is that the 4 in one sleeping bag from Wholesale sports on the right hand side of the tent? I was looking at them in the store 2 weeks ago and thought they would be perfect for hunting camp giving the ability to adjust according to the outside temps.

any feedback would be great.

Xpeier, sorry for the delayed answer but I missed your post. It is indeed the Wholesale Sports "Outfitter" bag, and I have never been cold in it. As a matter of fact when my partner stoked up the stove so the tent was hotter than a firecracker the bag was a comfortable insulator from the heat!
