    Re: true story! unbelievable!

I don't think adam and jamie would do this one, but it'd be cool!

So here's a true one for you from about 10 years ago...

Lake Simcoe is in southern Ontario about an hour or so from Toronto and supports a huge ice fishing industry in the winter. I think I've heard estimates of 30, 000 huts some winters, some of the "towns" are so big you can order take out from guys in bombardiers (they seat 6 to 8 if you've never seen one)....

Anyways on the news one night was a story that made me giggle...

They showed somewhere around a dozen very nice trucks with cappers and SUV's up to about their widows in the water all still parked perfectly. You see what the hut operators do is use the area right next to shore as parking lots and this group of americans all traveling together came up and parked together. So with the weight of their rigs, the conditions of the ice and all they group of them punched through, just like it was on looney tunes!

This was on the news and they had some great aerial shots and all. I can't remember how they got them out, but do know enough vehicles go through that lake that they have special rigs with A frames to pull the out.

My dad always said be careful of the pressure ridges and where the ice meets the shore, he never warned me about parking with Yanks!

    Very best,

    Ian
