    Most important lesson

    Hi,

this fall will be my second season waterfowling, can't wait. My first season was great and learn a lot through trial and error, never more excited.

Just was thinking to ask for words of wisdom out there from the more experienced. What is the most important lesson you have learn out there in the marsh that have increase success and enjoyment of waterfowling?

Thanks, much appreciate it for sharing.

Real hunters have no friends! Alls we want from you is where you seen the big buck last year! We don't care about your dog or what you do for a living or how you bake a bloody pie from scratch! Where did you see the buck, Buddy! We don't watch Oprah or shower at a 10 day hunting camp, we eat pork and beans with the knife we gut Deer with,we blow our nose with our fingers and the Regs are used for Toilet Paper! Friends, Ha, isn't that a TV show for Girlie Men???

Take care not to show your face to incoming waterfowl. I don't think that painting up like the "Duck Commander" or always wearing a face mask is necessary, but if you've ever been on higher ground in a hunting area, a face sticking out the blind for a quick look around looks like someone is holding up a white paper plate. Maybe if you continually nodded, it would duplicate a Robo-Duck decoy!
Why do the ducks come just after I pour my coffee?

I bet you've already learned this - but the single most effective tip that I learned early on was two-fold. Stay as still as possible and DO NOT show your face to the incoming birds! Just like blindman says, it's like flashing a white flag at the ducks/geese. It's guaranteed to scare them off.

Wear a face mask if you want to, but again, it's not necessary if you take care not to show your face and you're as still as a stump.

Don't face into the wind when hunting over dekes!
They'll never end hunting...may make it illegal, but they'll never really kill that way of life!
