    Exped Downmat 7

I just setup and deflated my new Exped downmat 7 and it's very comfy. The built hand pump worked very well.
But I noticed a light sour milk smell in the air coming out of the mat when it is deflated. I'm guessing this is the down smell, is this normal?

Could be the preservative that is in there, or the drying agent for the air that gets pumped in there?

Never noticed the smell in mine...??? The hand pump is a royal pain in the ass though... Takes like 5 minutes to pump.

    Carl,

I did notice that it's a bit tricky to seal the inflation valve on the push down and then release it on the way up but once I had the timing down it filled up under 2 minutes. But I was given her good!

Same. Couple minutes to fill if you get a decent seal. I didn't find it to be a PITA.
