    Turkey chicks

June 14. Just fyi, this afternoon I was honored by the introduction of four turkey chicks in my brother's backyard, when their mother brought them out of hiding to peck about the lawn. Maybe 3 or 4 inches tall, couldn't be too many days old and they navigated about rather well. They didn't stay long, maybe ten minutes before she headed them back into cover. I think that they may have been hunting the black ants, as they were all over the place the last couple of days. Although she is normally rather tame, she certainly seemed on her guard today. And of course I had no camera again.
They'll never end hunting...may make it illegal, but they'll never really kill that way of life!
