Right now I use a Springfield single shot .410 but I am looking to up grad to a single shot 20g. I'm starting to hate paying the price of .410 shell. It a great gun just pricy to shoot.
Magnums dont kill deer,,,, bullets do (Stick with a rifle. Let cupid shoot the arrows lol.)

Re: What do you use for grouse?

Ive used my hand before and my boot once and a few rocks. but shot them with 10 gauge duck load, 12 gauge loads, 16 gauge loads, 20 gauge loads 28 gauge loads all the way down to 410 loads and 22 to 30-06 and 45-70 to 44 mag, bows and slingshots, this year ill add flintlock rifle to that list, and if i ever manage to pry the 100 year old double barrel muzzle stuffer that is roughly a 20 gauge, and get it checked out, i would love to kill some chickens with that. through vast amounts of "research" I have come to the conclusion ditch chickens are not hard to kill pretty much anything will do the job. but any real upland bird, (as in one that is afraid of people and tries to fly away) takes a real gun. my all round bird choice would be a 20 gauge O/U, light and points quick, but just picked up a little badger in 22 mag, ill throw a red dot on top and some paracord to make it look more like something you like, not something that fell out from underneath the car in front of you ha. see how this season shapes up.

I use a 20g shotgun for chickens, both of my hunting partners use .22s. When/if they miss and the bird takes off, the shotgun puts them in the pan every time.
