"Hunter" defined?

I know that it is an offence to cause anyone under 10 to hunt. I have a nine-year old cousin who wants to come along with me and my uncle, would he be considered to be hunting? Since he won't have a gun is that good enough? I was told that you can't be hunting if you don't have a gun or bow, just like you're not fishing if you don't have a rod.

He would be looking/watching/learning, but not hunting.

So there's no possibility of legal trouble? I suggested he should be a paid trail assistant which he thought was a great solution.

Then your dealing with child labour laws. But honestly I think you getting paraniod over nothing. I think most COs would incourage bringing youth out.

SB I've been taking my son with me since he was 6. Never an issue. Take the gaffer and get him his hands dirty. He'll be ready for when he's 10!!

My daughter was "grouse girl" starting at about 8. We would shoot em and she would clean em. She's a hell of a spotter too. Now she hunts as well so between the wife and kids on family trips I'm just a driver but it's all good. Watching the kids grow and gain skills is an amazing experience.

If the kid aint armed the kid aint huntin.
Every one here with a kid should take them out. I was out when i was a tot. Besides there is no laws broken any co would be nuts to try

you can take anyone along hunting, so long as that "un-licensed person" does not actually "kill" or intend to kill wildlife!,,

your newborn born baby, or your grand-pappy 102 years old! and all ages in-between!
