Not sick of talking about it, or debating the topic - it just seems to go in circles with nothing every coming of it.

BTW, in my opinion Cross bows are archery equipment.

The search function on this, as most other forums, are not the swiftest but if you put "crossbow" in it it should come up with something.

If you have ever tried to still hunt with a crossbow and stalk up to within 40 yards of game, you will know why crossbows belong in bow season. Watch a few huge animals wander off just out of range that you could have shot 6 times over with a rifle, and then you will know...

You dont have to knock your arrow when you see an animal, you dont have to draw on an animal, and all you do is pull a triger half of them have scopes on them.I know you are limitted in your range just the same or worse but i dont think they should be in the same season.

Just curious about what you guys think.
Lets say your wish was granted, and crossbows were removed from archery season.

Exactly what would you have accomplished?
Knowledgeable shooters agree- The 375 Ruger is the NEW KING of all 375 caliber cartridges. ALL HAIL THE NEW KING!

wouldve put BC on par with Alberta where crossbows are not legal archery tackle ...

Now if BC had the archery only seasons that AB has ... that would make me happy ...

Its a crossBOW not a crossrifle.. It "shoots" sticks.. Its a bow!! It should be able to be used in archery season.
    Are we having fun yet?

    Re: Bows VS Crossbows

This is the way that I see it:

Since recruitment levels are low for hunting cross-bows are allowed in a bow season. People that shoot cross-bows don't have the time to be proficient with a vertical bow or simply do not want to take the time.

I hunt with a compound bow but I know traditional guys would love to smash my bow to pieces. I admit shooting a compound is much easier than a traditional bow. Now should compounds be taken out of the bow season? I don't think so but if they were I wouldn't blink an eye because I love bowhunting and would pick up a traditional bow.

My point is that cross-bow hunting is not on the same level as compound and compound is not on the same level as traditional. Does that make one hunter better than another? I think you could argue it that way but I am not hunting to try and keep up with the Jones' or prove myself.

I could of killed a monster whitetail a few years ago if I had a cross-bow but I had to draw my bow back when the buck was practically on top of me. I am sure the same could be said for cross-bows and follow up shots. In reality follow up shots don't happen that often.

I am not in favour of cross-bows in a bow season for the reason of not being able to draw back and the lack of skill to shoot. But I am in favour of hunter participation and involvement!
