    Well the camera is the cheap part. It's the lenses that break the wallet. I bought the beginning level SLR camera Nikon d-40 cost me close to 500 after tax and came with 1 small lens. For wildlife pictures you need big lenses and the smallest recommended is 300mm and its worth another $600. The one I want is 500mm and its $1400. And these are lower end models more for hobby photographers. Some lenses are 3-4-5 thousand dollars!

    Photography can be ridiculously expensive.
    With that being said for hobby people they are making it more affordable.
    So for $400 bucks you can have a very nice camera, and then the lenses are up too you.

    When we're out IDing whales the guys snapping shots are using 500mm beasts. One photographer got carpul tunnel in his wrist from holding his camera for so long waiting for the perfect shot!

    Nice shots you took. Wildlife has to be the coolest thing to photograph.

    How do you place the water mark on there??

    I have had a few of my photo's "Borrowed" for a lack of a better word off this site and placed on an G/O site as their own. I want to water mark the rest before the "walk" over to their site.

    And yes I know it is the internet, but damn I just wish they would have asked.......

    Putting someone else photo's on your own site and claiming they are theirs is wrong. They now want me to "Prove" they are mine, with the who, what, where, when and how BS. I told them I could even send them the video, but since then they have clamed up, due to the guiding season. Still waiting on a reply....

    So if you have any info on the water mark, let me know.

    Well done! Catching the lighting and composing the shots takes time and practice, especially when your subjects are not waiting around!
