Nothing like the thick cape on an October sheep. Try again next year. Looks like you're on them.

    Well done on the g'bear.

That snow is a risk / reward addition to your hunt.

A little off topic but..... does anyone else think the guy in the second pic stirring the pot looks like one of the Sedin twins?

Them mountains is for Indians and wild men." "Mother Gue", I says "the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world," and by God, I was right. Keep your nose in the wind and your eye along the skyline."

Maybe he didn't break his foot, he went hunting Stones instead.

Hey - two questions for you. How did you find that stove worked for you in the cold? I've used a white gas MSR stove for years that is a snow melting machine, but my ultralight cartridge stove just doesn't cut it once the temps get below 0. Do you have trick for keeping that stove pumping out BTU's?

Second - ten iches of snow overnight sounds like a good start to high avalanche hazard. Did you guys plan for this ahead (bring avi gear) or take a less exposed route home? Those tracks through the shallow bowl gave me the heebie-jeebies! A little wind loading together with an early season snowpack. . . you've got the makings of trouble there.

Looks like a great adventure though!
