    I tried playing with that, but it didnt show any of the roads.

    What? You ain't doin something right, you can get every logging road, skid trail, and quad track that's ever been mapped off of that site.

    Go directly here for just general logging roads on the south island (you can zoom in/out to whatever level of detail you want/need):

    And if that wasn't good enough, this following additional link has a BUNCH of data available - from topo maps to cutblock data to water sources and everything else you'd ever want to know to hunt a given area:

    Look under the "Layers" section, and you can turn on/off the view of gobs of usefull stuff (mostly you have to be zoomed in pretty tight before most of it becomes available). One of the tricker things to find though, is how to turn on the non-provincial logging road maps. In the Layers menu, if you look under "Legal Information and Administrative Boundaries", and then "Land Ownership and Status", you and turn on both of the "Forrest Tenure Road" options, it gets you what you're looking for in terms of roads/trails/etc.
